Meet Our Horses.

The horses at Sojourn TRC are selected based on their health, confirmation, and ability to willingly support our riders. All horses continue schooling in dressage to optimize their personal well-being. Additionally, our horses receive chiropractic adjustments every two months as an adjunct to excellent veterinary care.

Our horses are constantly exposed to the unexpected throughout their training that may include tarps, big horse balls, plastic bags, umbrellas, balloons, and more. Most of our horses perceive these days as play days.

Sojourn TRC horses are diverse in that they each have individual strengths that support riders at varying levels. We also recognize that age doesn’t necessarily mean a horse cannot support a rider’s needs! Our horses range in age from 13 years to 30 years old! Our horses’ heights range from 9 hands for our Class B Miniature horse to 16 hands for our tallest horse. All horses demonstrate the desirable traits of soundness at walk, trot, canter and lateral moves. They enjoy attention and look forward to lesson days with their riders. Through our assessment processes, we create a solid match between horse and rider.
